Bank card payments have begun to be accepted on buses in Northern Cyprus
On some bus routes in Northern Cyprus, cashless fare payment has become available.
According to carriers, the terminals have been put into operation in test mode. The new system is designed to speed up passenger boarding and reduce the use of cash. Payment is made contactlessly — simply tap the card on the reader when entering the bus.
Representatives of transport companies said that in the near future the terminals will appear on other routes as well. At the same time, current fares remain unchanged, and cash payment is also still accepted. The introduction of the system is aimed at increasing convenience for residents and visitors to the island.
