7-Year-Old Child Nearly Drowns in Bafra
In Northern Cyprus, a child nearly drowned in a swimming pool. The young boy was rescued just in time in Bafra.
According to the police press service, the incident, which almost ended tragically, occurred this past Sunday. A seven-year-old boy named Omar Khaled Alfatafta went for a swim in the pool at a hotel in Bafra. Around 2:00 PM, the child decided to move from the children's pool to the adult pool and began to drown.
After his father pulled him from the pool and administered first aid, he was taken to Famagusta State Hospital and then transferred to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia. The child is under medical supervision.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated an increase in water-related incidents in the TRNC with the onset of the summer season.
