According to the municipality, the main program will run from September 1 to 16 — daily from 17:00 to 23:00; outdoor workshops will be open to the public, allowing visitors to observe the process of creating ceramic works.
This year, around 70 participants from seven countries will take part in the symposium: 20 international participants from Turkey, Sweden, Italy, France, Russia, and the USA, and 50 local artists, academics, and ceramic enthusiasts. According to the mayor of Çatalköy-Esentepe, Ceyhun Kıroka, Vounous has become a significant brand promoting the island's cultural identity, and high public interest is expected.
For residents of Northern Cyprus, the event provides an opportunity to freely (the events are open to the public) observe artists’ working processes and participate in cultural exchange; the organizers invite the public to visit workshops in the evening and attend the exhibition and opening ceremony on September 14 at 19:00.
