Two People Injured in Separate Traffic Accidents in Nicosia and Iskele
In Northern Cyprus, two individuals were injured in separate traffic accidents that occurred in Nicosia and Iskele. The injured parties were treated in local hospitals.
According to the police press office, the first accident took place yesterday evening at around 6:00 PM on Abdi İpekçi Street in Nicosia. A 22-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle, crashing into another car. The passenger of the second car was injured and was taken to Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for treatment.
It was later discovered that the driver responsible for the accident was driving without a license or insurance. He was arrested on the scene.
The second accident happened earlier today, around 11:00 AM, on the Iskele-Ercan highway. Near a gas station close to the village of Akova, a car driven by a 77-year-old man veered off the road, collided with a tree, and then overturned.
The injured driver was taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where he received medical attention.
The investigation into both accidents is still ongoing.
