Famagusta to Revamp Playgrounds and Build First Pet Park
Famagusta will soon see upgrades to its children's playgrounds and the creation of its first dedicated pet park. The municipality has signed off on a new project that will be funded through its own resources.
The tender for "Procurement of Various Playground Equipment, Playground Elements, and Rubber for Children's Parks" has been completed. This project will fully renovate the city’s three largest parks and involve a major overhaul of public spaces.
The contract for the construction of the playgrounds, valued at approximately 6.5 million Turkish lira, was awarded to Alpa Toys. The project will be funded by the Famagusta Municipality's own resources.
The agreement was signed today by Famagusta Mayor Suleyman Ulucay and the director of Alpa Toys.
The project will include renovations of three major parks in the city: City Park, Laguna Park, and Ali Mahir Park.
In addition to traditional playground equipment, the parks will feature survival play areas, climbing structures, trampolines, and zip lines. The worn-out surfaces will be replaced with new rubberized flooring.
Some parks will also include adult swings, new children's play areas, and state-of-the-art fitness centers for young people.
Overall, the project will refurbish all the city's children's parks, upgrade more than 2,000 square meters of rubber flooring, and replace swings and slides.
Moreover, Ali Mahir Park will introduce Famagusta's first "Pet Park."
The project is expected to be completed within 60 days.
