Famagusta to Launch Guided Tours of Historic City Walls
Famagusta will soon offer guided tours along its historic city walls, a project initiated by the municipality in collaboration with the TRNC Ministry of Tourism and the Department of Antiquities and Museums.
According to project organizers, the tours aim to encourage visitors to spend more time in Famagusta while offering a closer look at the city's unique historical and cultural heritage. To enhance the experience, tourists will have the option to walk along a designated route atop the walls or explore them via golf carts departing from Canbulat Gate.
Famagusta Mayor Süleyman Uluçay confirmed that the project will be launched soon.
“We are taking important steps to ensure that visitors to Famagusta can spend more time in our city and truly immerse themselves in its rich historical atmosphere,” the mayor stated.
As part of the tour itinerary, visitors will disembark from buses at a designated stop, descend a staircase into the historic moat, and enter the city through the White Tower Gate. Alternatively, they may opt for a full guided tour of the moat itself.
