Man dies from electric shock in Geçitkale
A tragic incident occurred today around 11:30 AM in Geçitkale.
According to police, 43-year-old Erol Demir was installing a lighting pole on a plot when the structure touched high-voltage power lines passing overhead. The man received a severe electric shock.
The victim was taken to Famagusta State Hospital, but despite the doctors' efforts, he could not be saved.
Also affected by the electric shock was 15-year-old Aras Demir, who was nearby and assisting. After receiving first aid, he was kept under observation in the hospital's pediatric ward.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
