Shooting in Gönyeli — one person injured
On the evening of March 28, around 21:30, an armed incident occurred in the Gönyeli area, resulting in a man being wounded.
According to police, a conflict broke out on Ecevit Street between 27-year-old T.A. and 42-year-old Erdogan Öztürk for an as-yet-undetermined reason. During the altercation, the suspect opened fire with a handgun.
As a result of the shooting, Öztürk sustained gunshot wounds to both legs. The victim was taken by ambulance to the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia, where he is receiving medical treatment.
The suspect has been detained by the police, and the investigation is ongoing.
