A roundabout project on Ugur Mumcu Street in Karakum completed in Girne
The Girne Municipality completed the roundabout project on Ugur Mumcu Street in the Karakum area in a record 16 hours.
To avoid disrupting traffic, Girne municipal teams completed the work—started on the evening of Tuesday, June 24—in an organized manner around 07:00 on Wednesday, June 25. Landscaping, parking arrangements on the street, and lighting works will begin in the coming days.
Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul stated: “On behalf of my city, I would like to thank our subcontractors, our painting team, our public works team, and our traffic police unit, who all contributed to this successful work.”
Şenkul emphasized that the city’s challenging conditions force them to carry out work in the shortest possible time and noted that the Girne Municipality as a whole can act swiftly and in an organized manner. He added that the next steps would be landscaping, parking arrangements, and street lighting.
