Olympic Festival to be Held in Güzelyurt in May
The President of the TRNC National Olympic Committee, Orçun Kamalı, announced preparations for the Olympic Festival, which will take place on May 12–13, 2026, in Güzelyurt.
According to him, the event is organized jointly by the TRNC National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Education. As part of the preparations, committee representatives held a series of meetings in Güzelyurt and discussed organizational issues with local authorities.
Kamalı noted that the festival is part of a strategic plan for the development of youth sports and an important project aimed at promoting Olympic values.
He also emphasized the contribution of educational institutions to the event's preparation and thanked the teachers and students of Şehit Turgut Ortaokulu and Kurtuluş Lisesi for their active participation.
The organizers invited the residents of Güzelyurt to take part in the festival and support the sporting events.
