150 Trees Planted in Hamitköy
The Nicosia Municipality organized a tree-planting event in the Hamitköy district. The activity took place on a plot of land in the upper part of the area near the Sayran Dede shrine.
As part of the campaign, 150 saplings of various trees, including pine, poplar, cypress, olive, and eucalyptus, were planted. The initiative aims to green the area and expand green spaces in the district.
The event was attended by Hamitköy Mukhtar Feyzullah Bostancı, students from Dr. Fazıl Küçük and Gelibolu primary schools, as well as local residents.
Nicosia Mayor Mehmet Harmancı also joined the event, planting trees alongside the participants and reminding students of the importance of protecting nature and increasing green spaces.
