During the "Zehir Kapany" operation, 10 people were detained in Northern Cyprus
In Northern Cyprus, in Lefkoşa, Famagusta, Girne, and İskele, between October 13 and 15, 2025, the police detained ten people and seized a large quantity of drugs and cash during the "Zehir Kapany" operation.
According to the Police Press Office, the operations were conducted jointly by the Crime Prevention Department and the Department for the Prevention of Drugs and Smuggling. During five separate raids, narcotic substances and items related to drug trafficking were confiscated.
Seized items reportedly included a total of 719 grams of cannabis, 28 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of methamphetamine, one rolled cigarette containing synthetic cannabinoids, two sheets of paper with traces of synthetic cannabinoids, eight psilocybin ("magic") mushrooms, two precision scales, a grinder, scissors, and a glass smoking pipe.
Cash suspected to be proceeds from drug sales was also seized: 12,000 Turkish Lira, 20 British Pounds, 100 Euros, and 20 US Dollars.
As a result, the following individuals were detained: A.K. (E-49), B.K. (E-19), V.S. (E-29), A.B. (E-25), M.Z.H. (E-28), E.K. (E-21), O.S. (E-22), A.A. (E-34), E.M.E.S. (E-40), and R.M. (E-23). The investigation is ongoing.
