In Kyrenia, a man died after a fight in a bar: the second participant in the conflict has been arrested
In Northern Cyprus, one of the participants in a bar fight in Kyrenia has been arrested, following which the second participant in the conflict died. The cause of death is presumed to be a kick to the abdomen.
As part of the investigation into the death of 27-year-old Onur Kayabaşı, Mustafa Babacı has been arrested. Yesterday, the detained man appeared before the court. According to the police, the altercation outside the bar on Namık Kemal Street in Kyrenia occurred around midnight on March 13th.
During the ensuing fight, the suspect brutally beat his opponent, including kicking him forcefully in the abdomen. The next day, the victim went to the hospital, was examined, and discharged. Several days later, on March 17th, the victim passed away at his home in Kyrenia.
Despite the fact that during the autopsy doctors failed to determine the exact cause of death, the investigation believes that it occurred due to the blow he received to the area of the pancreas. However, the exact cause of death will be determined by forensic examination.
At the trial, the police requested the suspect to be remanded for three days for further investigation. The judge agreed to this decision.
