Completion of Kordonboyu Promenade Construction in Kyrenia
The reconstruction project of the Kordonboyu promenade in Kyrenia is nearing completion, according to Mayor Murat Shenkul's social media post.
The mayor stated that at this stage, the process of laying the groundwork has begun on the promenade, which will significantly accelerate the project. He also emphasized that Atatürk's bust will remain in the most beautiful spot in Kordonboyu Square.
"We have reached the end of the infrastructure works, which took a long time in our Kordonboyu project, and we have started the process of laying the groundwork, after which the work will progress much faster. As part of the project, we are changing the road surface in front of Atatürk's bust and creating a new square in Kyrenia," wrote the mayor.
It's worth noting that the reconstruction project of the Kordonboyu promenade in Kyrenia was announced at the end of February this year.
The project aims to create an attractive public space between the Dome hotel and the old harbor.
The public space will include observation terraces easily accessible to people of all ages, recreational areas, parking spaces for disabled individuals, and new restrooms.
The area will be constantly monitored by surveillance cameras and municipal security service personnel.
