Car Falls Off Bridge Into Stream in Lapta
A serious traffic accident in Lapta left a driver injured after his car overturned and plunged from a bridge into a streambed.
According to the police press office, the crash happened around 10:00 PM on Mareşal Fevzi Çakmak Street. The 28-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, swerved to the right side of the road, and was unable to regain control. As a result, the car plunged about six meters into the streambed, flipping upside down.
Footage from the scene shows that specialized equipment was needed to remove the wrecked vehicle.
A crane was used to lift the damaged car, which was then towed away.
The driver was taken to Nicosia State Hospital, where he was hospitalized and remains under medical observation.
