In Lapta, a man was seriously injured in a café fight, suspect detained
On August 25, 2025, around 18:00, a fight broke out in a café in Lapta: according to police, M.B. (44) got into a conflict with I.B. (53) after the latter allegedly insulted M.B.’s wife. As a result of the clash, the victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
According to police reports, M.B. struck various parts of I.B.’s body; the victim was found to have skull and rib fractures. The suspect was detained at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
For residents of Northern Cyprus, this highlights the importance of personal safety in public places: in case of threats of violence, it is recommended to immediately call the police and medical services. No official data on charges filed or the victim’s condition beyond the reported fractures has yet been released; police continue their investigation.
