In Larnaca, driver who entered the oncoming lane dies in head-on collision with a taxi
On August 28, 2025, on the highway in the Larnaca area between the Rizoelia and Kalo Chorio interchanges, a car collided head-on with a taxi. According to the Cyprus Police, the car driven by Anastasios Michaila entered the oncoming lane and collided with the taxi.
As a result of the accident, one person died — according to the police, he was 80 years old. The taxi driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital; no official information is currently available regarding his condition. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the traffic police, with on-site examinations ongoing.
