Annual "Orchid Valley" Hike to be Held in Lefke
The Denizli–Gemikonağı Development Association is organizing the traditional environmental hike "Orkide Vadisi Gözlem Yürüyüşü," which will take place on Sunday, March 15.
According to the organization's chairman, M. Türkay Fotalı, this year's event marks the 14th edition and aims to raise environmental awareness. The main message of the action is "There is no other Cyprus," reminding everyone of the importance of preserving the island's nature.
Participants are scheduled to gather at 09:00 at the main entrance of Lefke Avrupa Üniversitesi (European University of Lefke). Before the hike begins, there will be short speeches and a folk dance performance, followed by the start of the route at 10:00.
According to the organizers, the walk will be approximately 7 kilometers long. Along the way, participants will be able to observe wild orchids and the natural landscapes of the region.
Participation in the event is free, and all participants will be issued commemorative certificates upon completion of the hike.
