In Lefkoşa, a charity bike ride donated a 12-lead ECG and tablets for children to oncology
According to Green Pedal Spor Kulübü Derneği, on September 7, a charity bike ride that started in Famagusta and ended in Lefkoşa enabled the purchase and delivery of a 12-lead ECG device, model ECG-301, to the Oncology Department of the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
The organizers — the Green Pedal sports club in collaboration with the charitable initiative Tanyel’s Smile — reported that the device was purchased using donations from ride participants, organizations, and private individuals. In addition to the ECG for the hospital, five tablets were acquired for the play/education room of the children’s ward.
According to the club, the device will improve cardiac monitoring for oncology patients, and the tablets will help children continue educational activities and recreation during their hospital stay. The organizers also emphasized their intention to continue campaigns supporting cancer patients and developing social programs.
What this means for residents of Northern Cyprus: improving the diagnostic base at the national hospital may speed up examinations and enhance patient monitoring in oncology; families with hospitalized children will benefit from additional resources for learning and entertainment in the wards.
