A New Year’s “Solidarity Market” will be held in Lefkoşa in support of schoolchildren

The “Toplumsal Adalet ve Mücadele Partisi” (TAM) party announced that this Saturday it will hold the New Year’s “Yılbaşı Dayanışma Pazarı” in the center of Lefkoşa. The event is organized with the support of the Lefkoşa municipality, and all proceeds from renting market stalls will be directed to helping primary school students in need.
The fair will feature stands with food and drinks, souvenirs, handmade items, and products from local manufacturers. Guests can enjoy concerts, DJ sets, and dedicated play areas for children — the organizers emphasize that the event is intended as a family-friendly occasion open to everyone.
TAM’s women’s branch coordinator for Lefkoşa, Çağla Dinçer, noted that the goal of the project is not only to support children from low-income families but also to unite different layers of society around the idea of mutual assistance. According to her, the work and involvement of the women participating in the preparation of the market have become one of the key pillars of this initiative.
