TRNC Stands with Pakistan, Condemns Indian Attacks
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has voiced strong support for Pakistan and condemned India’s recent attacks. The TRNC Prime Minister also issued a separate statement addressing the situation.
“We strongly condemn the attacks carried out by India on Pakistan on May 7, 2025, targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. We stand in solidarity with our brotherly nation, Pakistan, during these difficult times,” the ministry stated.
The TRNC Foreign Ministry also expressed hope that both sides would take the necessary steps to ease tensions and avoid similar incidents in the future.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel echoed the ministry’s sentiments, urging all parties to act with reason and responsibility to safeguard peace in the region. He emphasized that the TRNC fully supports Pakistan, adding that India’s actions pose a serious threat to peace and stability across Asia.
To recap: In the early hours of May 7, India launched a military operation named Sindhur, targeting what it described as terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. The strike was a response to a deadly terrorist attack that occurred in Pahalgam on April 22.
