Giant Glowing Spiral Seen in the Sky Over Cyprus
Last night, a massive glowing spiral was visible in the sky above Cyprus, as well as across Europe, Russia, and other parts of the world. Slowly and silently spinning in the dark, it caught the attention of many. But there’s nothing to worry about — it was just Elon Musk launching a rocket.
According to the Cyprus Astronomical Organization, this unusual phenomenon is not connected to alien visits or portals to other dimensions. The bright spiral was caused by the launch of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, led by Elon Musk.
The rocket took off from Florida as part of a mission for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office. After releasing its payload — most likely a satellite — it began its return to Earth. During descent, the rocket burned through the remaining fuel. At high altitudes and extremely low temperatures, the fuel instantly froze. The rocket’s spinning motion shaped the frozen particles into a spiral, and when sunlight hit them, an impressive light spiral was formed, visible from Earth.
“This phenomenon was observed in many parts of Europe. It’s not unique, but it’s still extremely rare — and perhaps it’s this rarity that made it so special,” said the Cyprus astronomers.
