In Nicosia, a man stole a car worth 40,000 lira and sold it for scrap metal
In Nicosia, a car thief appeared before the court, having stolen someone else's car worth 40,000 lira. The stolen car was sold for scrap metal for 5,000 TL.
Omer Zaterolular ended up in the dock. According to the investigation, on February 15th around 14:30, the accused stole a car worth 40,000 Turkish lira, belonging to a university student, which was parked on the roadside in Ortaköy.
The thief resold the stolen car to a scrap metal dealer in Haspolat for 5,000 Turkish lira. The suspect was arrested on February 18th and brought to court. The fate of the money received from the sale of the expensive car is being investigated. The police requested the court to arrest the suspect for three days for further investigation.
The judge agreed with this decision and ordered the suspect to be detained for 3 days.
