In Nicosia, a warehouse with household appliances caught fire: the fire spread to a residential house
A major fire broke out in Nicosia on the evening at a warehouse containing household appliances. The flames spread to an adjacent residential house.
According to the police press office, the fire at the wooden and sheet metal warehouse, located next to a residential house in Ardahan, ignited on Thursday evening around 18:30. Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical cables.
The fire was extinguished by the fire brigade. As a result of the blaze, the warehouse was completely destroyed along with various household appliances stored inside, as well as agricultural machinery, two mattresses, five sacks of fertilizers, 50 beehives, and three field kitchens.
Additionally, due to the fire spreading to the neighboring residential house, various household appliances, furniture, kitchen, and bedroom doors and windows were destroyed by the fire, while all the walls of the house were covered in smoke and heat. Police investigation is ongoing.
