In Nicosia, official tariffs for municipal services have been reduced
Official rates for municipal services in the Turkish Municipality of Nicosia (LTB) have been reduced from 25% to 21% of the monthly minimum wage. This decision was unanimously adopted with the support of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP).
It is noted that the annual fee for municipal services, as determined by LTB, should be 25% of the monthly minimum wage. Members of the municipal council from CTP proposed reducing the rate to 20% because the existing rates are high, which could affect the collection of payments and lead to a decrease in municipality revenues.
However, the official rate of municipal service was adopted by the Municipal Council at the level of 25%.
The issue of reducing the rate was raised at a meeting of the municipal council of the Turkish Municipality of Nicosia held yesterday evening.
The leadership of CTP proposed reducing the annual official rate of municipal service to 21% of the monthly minimum wage, starting from February 2024. The Municipal Council unanimously supported this decision.
