Over 50,000 Passengers Served at Ercan Airport During New Year Holidays
During the 4 days of the New Year holidays, from December 29, 2023, to January 1, 2024, Ercan Airport handled 423 aircraft and served 51,325 passengers.
According to T&T Airport Management, the highest density at the airport was on the first day of the new year: on January 1, the airfield served 140 aircraft (including private) and 17,102 passengers.
On December 29, 2023, 108 aircraft arrived and departed, carrying 14,164 passengers. On December 30, 99 aircraft served 11,531 passengers. On New Year's Eve, December 31, Ercan accommodated 76 aircraft and 8,528 passengers.
In total, over the four days, 212 aircraft arrived at Ercan Airport, carrying 27,751 passengers, while 211 aircraft departed, carrying 23,574 passengers from the TRNC.
Despite the high traffic, no issues occurred at the airport. The management of T&T Airport, in collaboration with industry representatives, took all precautionary measures to ensure that passengers could fly safely and comfortably.
