Turkish Military Ship, TCG Bayraktar, to Arrive at Famagusta Port
The Turkish military ship TCG Bayraktar will dock in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with third-year students from the Naval Academy of the National Defense University of Turkey (MSU).
According to the TRNC Security Forces Command, the TCG Bayraktar (L-402) is conducting open sea exercises and will be in the port of Famagusta on July 18 to participate in the Peace and Freedom Day celebrations on July 20.
"On July 18, from 09:30 to 10:30, cadets from the MSU Naval Academy will lay flowers at the Victory Monument in Famagusta, followed by a battalion march along Inönü Boulevard," the Command announced.
It was previously reported that a parade featuring 50 ships will be held in the TRNC to mark the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. The parade will be led by the Turkish multi-purpose amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu. President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the celebrations.
