Schools in the TRNC Resume Classes After February Break
The 16-day February school break in Northern Cyprus has officially ended, and students are back in class today.
According to the Ministry of Education of the TRNC, approximately 62,000 students will return to their studies. This includes 28,000 students in 128 primary schools, 30,000 in 48 secondary and high schools, and 4,000 in 13 vocational and technical schools.
In addition to the students, 6,300 teachers from both public and private schools, as well as 450 students from vocational and adult education centers, will also resume their duties.
For context, the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, which began on September 23, concluded with the release of report cards on January 31. The February school break started on February 1. The second semester officially begins today, February 17, and will run until June 16.
