Northern Cyprus Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek visited the Tatlısu Medical Center, where a mass screening program for early disease detection has been launched.

According to the minister, the project aims to cover a broad segment of the population and was launched in Tatlısu as a pilot region in collaboration with the municipality.

In the first phase, screenings have already been scheduled for 30 patients, and the municipality provides transportation for residents unable to reach the center on their own. Expanded medical teams are working at the center to conduct the necessary examinations for early diagnosis.

A total of approximately 3,000 regional residents are expected to be screened. Upon completion of the program, authorities intend to select another pilot municipality to continue the project in other areas.

The minister emphasized that prevention and early diagnosis are key objectives of the healthcare system, and such programs will be expanded.

Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan noted that just a year ago, there was not even a single doctor in the region, while today a fully functional medical center is operational. According to him, the program will allow diseases to be detected at early stages and improve the residents' quality of life.

Authorities expect that similar programs will be implemented in other regions of the island in the future.
