The 16th Tulip Festival was held in Tepebashi
Over the weekend, the 16th Tulip Festival took place in Tepebashi, Northern Cyprus. President of TRNC, Ersin Tatar, spoke at the opening ceremony.
In his speech at Tepebashi village square, the head of Northern Cyprus emphasized the importance of protecting nature and the environment and passing it on to future generations.
The president also toured the festival grounds and interacted with the townspeople.
Highlighting the natural beauty of Northern Cyprus as a whole and Tepebashi village in particular, the president stressed that in protecting the tulip flower, one must also protect the soil, plants, and nature of the island.
"We must preserve our nature, culture, and state," stated Ersin Tatar at the festival's opening.
It is worth noting that the traditional festival, organized jointly with the Lapta-Alsancak-Chamlybel municipality, the Tepebashi mukhtar's office, and TEPDER, took place on March 16th and 17th.
The main theme of this year's festival was to raise public awareness by demonstrating the diversity of the Medos Tulip (Tulipa Cypria) in the region, one of Cyprus's endemics.
