Interparliamentary friendship groups from Turkey and Azerbaijan are arriving in the TRNC

Interparliamentary friendship groups from Turkey-Azerbaijan, Turkey-TRNC, and Azerbaijan-TRNC are arriving in Northern Cyprus. At Ercan Airport, the delegation from Azerbaijan was welcomed by Zorlu Tere, the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic.

According to information provided by the parliament, in his welcoming speech, Zorlu Tere stated that Turkey, the TRNC, and Azerbaijan are three states but one nation, and Northern Cyprus is very pleased to host the Azerbaijani delegation.

Javanshir Feyziyev, the Chairman of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, stated in his speech that they arrived in the TRNC shortly after the establishment of the Friendship Group and emphasized that this unity carries an important message.

Javanshir Feyziyev also emphasized that the TRNC is a sibling of independent Turkish states and reminded that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in a phone call with the leader of Northern Cyprus a few days ago, emphasized that "Azerbaijan will support its Turkish Cypriot brothers."

Stating that this promise is not only from Ilham Aliyev but also from all the people of Azerbaijan, Javanshir Feyziyev expressed that after the first official visit, there will be much more contact.

The chairpersons of the interparliamentary friendship groups of the three countries and their accompanying delegations will stay in Northern Cyprus until Thursday.
