Student Search and Rescue Games will be held in TRNC
From May 3rd to May 5th, the University Search and Rescue Games (USARGames 2024) will take place in Northern Cyprus. The opening ceremony will be held on Friday, May 3rd, at 10:30 at the Metehan Polygon of the Civil Defense Organization in Nicosia.
The competitions will involve young people registered in search and rescue clubs of universities that are part of the International University Search and Rescue Council (IUSARC).
The games will be held with the participation of members of search and rescue clubs from 11 universities operating in the TRNC territory and one university from the Turkish Republic.
Participants will practice actions in the event of disasters and emergencies. Within the framework of the competition, young people will have to promptly reach the victims, create the most suitable conditions for assistance, conduct correct search and rescue operations, and minimize human casualties.
After the three-day competitions, on Sunday, May 5th, at 19:00, the award ceremony and final party will take place at the Civil Defense Organization “Camellia” base.
