In the TRNC, Damage from Four Fires in a Week Exceeds 4.6 Million Lira
According to the Weekly Fire Brigade Report, from August 19 to August 25, Northern Cyprus experienced a total of four fires and 14 incidents requiring rescue intervention. The overall damage from these fires amounted to 4.625 million Turkish lira.
Possible causes of the fires include short circuits in electrical wiring, explosions from sun-heated lighters, and ignition of dry grass.
In addition to extinguishing the fires, firefighters also rescued individuals trapped in elevators and cars following accidents, a person who fell into a water tank, and a cat stuck between doors.
