Strike Takes Place at Central Prison of TRNC
Three unions of public servants are conducting a strike today at the central prison of TRNC. The reason for the protest action is the shortage of technical staff in the penitentiary institution.
A one-day strike at the Central Prison in Northern Cyprus on March 20th was announced by three unions of Turkish Cypriot public servants: KTAMS, KAMUSEN, and KAMU-İŞ.
In a joint statement by the three unions, it is stated that the protest action will take place from 8:00 to 15:30 due to the lack of a resolution to the long-standing problem of staff shortage in the Central Prison.
It is expected that at 10:30 a statement will be made to the press in front of the new prison building.
