In a week, 10 fires and 29 incidents occurred in Northern Cyprus
In Northern Cyprus, from November 27 to December 3, there were 10 fires and 29 incidents that required the intervention of firefighters. The total damage from the fires amounted to approximately 651,000 Turkish lira.
Possible causes of the fires include forgotten food on the stove, short circuits, arson, and gas leakage from the stove. In one case, a car caught fire after crashing into an electric pole on the roadside.
In addition to fires, rescuers were dispatched to assist people trapped between structures, in elevators, and in cars after accidents, as well as to rescue cats stuck in trees and sewer pipes.
Firefighters also helped retrieve a car that fell into a pit after a landslide caused by heavy rainfall.
Firefighters also conducted fire prevention measures, participated in emergency evacuation drills, ensured traffic safety, and transported deceased individuals for forensic investigations.
