The Women’s Organization of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) met with livestock farmers in Güneşköy and announced plans to change the “existing system”
On August 30, 2025, the Women’s Organization of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) visited the village of Güneşköy in the Güzelyurt district, where they held a meeting with local livestock farmers. According to CTP, the visit included participation by environmental protection engineer Nilden Bektaş Erhürman; organization representatives listened to the producers’ concerns and emphasized the need for systemic changes. In a published statement, the organization used the phrase “Az kaldı, bu yalan ve talan düzenini değiştireceğiz” — “There is little left; we will change this lying and plundering order.”
During the visit, members of the Women’s Organization highlighted the difficulties faced by farmers and livestock breeders, although the statement did not provide detailed lists of specific problems or proposals for their resolution. According to the organization, the meeting was part of a series of contacts with agricultural producers aimed at understanding the sector’s current needs.
For residents of Northern Cyprus and industry participants, this indicates that CTP intends to continue gathering feedback and may pursue political initiatives to support livestock farmers. Producers are advised to follow subsequent party statements and official proposals for support measures.
