Residents of Nicosia have been cautioned about unexploded ordnance at the Beyköy firing range.
Cemal Kuyucu, the Governor of the Nicosia district, has issued a warning regarding unexploded ordnance left in the vicinity of the Beyköy firing range following artillery firing exercises involving heavy weaponry. Some projectiles remain unaccounted for and have not been disposed of.
In a written statement, the district head explained that artillery firing exercises occurred in the Beyköy firing range area from April 15 to 26. Despite thorough search efforts, unexploded ordnance may still be present in the area, posing a risk to the lives and property of citizens.
Should any ammunition be discovered, residents are urged to immediately report its location to the command of the Mechanized Infantry Division of the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces (CTSF) at 0392 236 8866 and the command of the artillery regiment of the CTSF at 0392 223 3487 for safe disposal.
