Nicosia Residents to Be Charged for Cleaning Neglected Lots
Starting April 2, the Turkish Municipality of Nicosia (LTB) will begin cleaning vacant lots and plots of land in an effort to reduce the risk of fires and prevent the spread of harmful organisms, such as flies, insects, and snakes. Property owners who fail to clean their properties will be charged for the service.
In a statement, the municipality emphasized its ongoing commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The LTB’s cleaning department has called on owners of vacant lots and lands within the municipality to take responsibility for cleaning their properties.
The announcement highlights that if owners fail to clear their land, LTB teams will do the work, and the costs will be passed on to the property owners, in line with a decision by the Municipal Council.
Property owners have already started receiving notification letters by mail. For more details, the LTB Cleaning Department can be contacted at 0392 60 85279.
