Jambulat Museum
Description
The Old Town in the very heart of the resort city of Famagusta holds many attractions behind its fortress walls. One of them is the tomb of the Ottoman officer Kilis Beyci Jambulata in the bastion of the same name. This sacred place for Turkish Cypriots is visited annually by thousands of islander pilgrims, guests from Turkey, and other countries. The hero’s tomb is located in one of the corridors of the ancient fortress, and the museum dedicated to Jambulata displays a vast number of exhibits narrating the centuries-old history of the city.
