Karmi
Description
This is one of the most picturesque places in Northern Cyprus — the highland village of Karmi (Karaman), a typical settlement of British Cypriots, who make up the third largest diaspora on the island (after Greeks and Turks).
From here, you can see the entire coastline from Karşıyaka to Karpaz laid out like on the palm of your hand, the Besparmak mountain range, and right above the village rises the majestic and mysterious Castle of St. Hilarion.
An incredibly beautiful and colorful place, it is considered the oldest settlement on the island (the tombs found here date back to the middle Bronze Age), and its local residents have managed to preserve a unique atmosphere of aesthetic unity with nature, unaffected by time and the influence of civilization.
