Where to donate unwanted items in Northern Cyprus — containers and charities
If you have accumulated unwanted items in Northern Cyprus, it is not necessary to throw them away. Several charitable organizations in the TRNC accept clothing, shoes, and textiles for reuse and to help those in need.
What items can be donated
Charitable organizations in the TRNC accept the following categories of items:
- Clothing
- Shoes
- Bedding and textiles
Important: all items should be clean, dry, and in usable condition. Damaged or heavily worn items are better not to donate.
Where the containers are located
Charity containers for accepting items can be found in the most convenient locations:
- Near supermarkets
- Close to gas stations
- At ATMs
- In residential areas and near shopping centers
Types of containers
In the northern part of the island, two main types of containers are used. They differ by color, but the only distinction is which charitable organization they belong to.
The contents of the containers are distributed by charitable foundations to those in need or sent for reuse.
