How to pay for tests and insurance
Payment for medical insurance and mandatory tests when obtaining a residence permit in the TRNC is only possible with a local bank card. Both debit and credit cards are accepted.
Do not be alarmed by the word "credit" — taking a loan is not required. You only need to have a small amount (around 100 USD/EUR) on the card — the bank will temporarily hold it as a guarantee that you have sufficient funds to pay for the services. Specific conditions may vary slightly, so check with your bank.
The card does not have to be issued in your name. It can belong to a friend or relative. Additionally, in our “Northern Cyprus” Telegram chat, you can always ask for help: helpful members can pay for the tests and insurance using their card, and you can simply reimburse them in cash.
