Payment for medical insurance and mandatory tests when obtaining a residence permit in the TRNC is made only with a local bank card. Both debit and credit cards are accepted.
Do not be alarmed by the word “credit” — taking out a loan is not necessary at all. It is enough to have a small amount on the card (about 100 USD/EUR) — the bank will freeze it as a guarantee that you have funds to pay for the services. Specific conditions may vary slightly, so check the details with your bank.
