Is a passport stamp issued when crossing the land border of Northern Cyprus within the island?
Crossing the border between Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the Republic of Cyprus occurs without passport stamps — the transition is recorded only in the electronic system.
Are stamps placed when crossing
When crossing the border between Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the Republic of Cyprus, no stamps are placed in the passport. For the southern part of the island, this line is considered an internal border, and the North effectively follows these rules. The check is carried out only through the database — your document is scanned, and the system records the crossing.
Length of stay in Northern Cyprus when crossing
If you return to the North, the police officer issues you a new number of days during which you can stay in TRNC.
It is important to check with the border officer yourself exactly how many days you were given to avoid overstaying.
Information on who can enter from TRNC to the Republic of Cyprus can be found here.
