Kornos Pottery Festival

Kornos village is known as the “village of the red clay”. It has received worldwide recognition as its pottery craft is listed in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This picturesque village beckons the crowds to visit its annual festival, giving everyone the chance to become acquainted with the ancient craft of pottery making. The festival lasts for 2 days and welcomes visitors to participate in workshops and learn how the red clay vessels are manufactured by skilful mastorisses (women potters). You will be mesmerized by their artful moves as the wares are crafted entirely by hand and on a foot-powered wheel.

The celebrations peak on the last day with live music, a concert, and abundant traditional food.
