PASTEL FESTIVAL

Come and try the most delicious Cypriot sweet — the healthy pasteli, traditionally prepared in the beautiful village of Anogyra. You will find workshops, excursions, tastings, an artistic program, and 25 participants with unique products.
Where tradition meets the healthiest Cypriot sweet, the Pasteli Festival promises to entertain you and offer the chance to taste, discover, and enjoy the gifts of the carob tree and the village at their finest.

- 11:00 — Welcome by the Chairman of the Community Council, Mr. Phivos Nicolaou
- 11:10 — Welcome speeches
- 11:20 — Festive opening of the Cultural and Folklore Workshop of Konia
- 11:40 — Demonstration of the preparation of the “golden” pasteli from Anogyra
- 11:30 — Interactive workshops for children. Seeds and wood of the carob tree become a source of inspiration and creativity under the guidance of professional mentors.
- 14:00 — Live guitar music — a tribute to the Greek song
- 15:00 — Demonstration of the preparation of the “golden” pasteli from Anogyra
- 16:00 — Live broadcast with Zenith FM
- 18:00 — Demonstration of the preparation of the “golden” pasteli from Anogyra
- 18:30 — Cypriot feast with live music
26 participants with carob-based products and pasteli, as well as local foods, handicrafts, cosmetics, and soap made from carob syrup. Tasting of all products and a treat with the traditional carob drink.
The Church of Archangel Michael will be open for pilgrims from 14:00 to 18:00.
During the festival, a train will shuttle visitors from the Carob Museum to the traditional and picturesque alleys of the village.
The Carob Museum, “Black Gold,” will be open for tours and explanations about the importance, varieties of the carob tree, and its valuable contribution to Cyprus’ economy.
