The CySO PREMIERE 5 concert presents a program of rich contrast—from Baroque depth to Romantic brilliance, conducted by the world-renowned Charles Olivieri-Munroe and featuring the outstanding Cypriot pianist Christos Fountos. Third prize winner at the 65th Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy, Christos captivates international audiences with his subtle musicality, poetic sensitivity, and masterful technique. The program begins with Johann Sebastian Bach's monumental Chaconne in Joachim Raff's orchestral transcription, followed by Sergei Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 1—a youthful masterpiece full of passion, virtuosity, and unforgettable melodies. The evening concludes with Robert Schumann's radiant Symphony No. 1 "Spring," filled with optimism, rhythmic energy, and lyrical warmth.
