Vera Polozkova — album presentation and birthday

On her birthday, Vera Polozkova takes the stage with a special program — the premiere of the album Red Thread, created in collaboration with composer Alexander Manotskov.

This evening brings together different layers of time and sound: poetry that has become emblematic for several generations, texts from a new book, and songs from the new album, performed live in an intimate, chamber format.

Red Thread is a dialogue between voice and word, where pop music, the folklore of different cultures, Renaissance and Baroque intonations, and echoes of opera converge. Two voices without instrumental accompaniment create a space in which the word once again becomes music.

For the first time in her career, Vera Polozkova performs a full album of songs written to her own texts. Once, in the Russian language, the words “poet” and “singer” were synonymous — Red Thread restores this unity.
