19 people arrested in Cyprus on suspicion of illegal work
The newspaper Alithia reported that on October 30, 2025, in Larnaca, 19 people were detained during a police operation for working without proper permits in the southern part of the island.
According to the publication, the arrests were part of checks on labor activity and law enforcement. Further details about the location and nature of the detainees’ work were not disclosed.
The same Alithia article also describes other incidents: a fire at a school in the Strovolos area, where firefighters extinguished burning trash bins on the first floor, as well as three arrests related to a fight on October 26 in an entertainment district; individuals aged 53, 18, and 16 were questioned and later released after filing statements.
