Rainy Weather Expected in Cyprus on January 24, with Snow on Troodos Peaks
The Meteorological Department of the Republic of Cyprus reports that weak low-pressure conditions will affect the region on Friday, January 24.
The morning is expected to bring overcast skies, scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the mountainous areas, as well as in the west and south of the island. On the highest peaks of the Troodos mountains, wet snow is likely. Inland and eastern areas may experience light fog, which could reduce visibility on the roads.
Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach around 16°C in inland areas, 18°C along the coasts, and 7°C in the mountains.
During the evening and overnight hours, localized cloud cover is expected, with isolated rain possible in coastal areas. Wet snow is also forecast for the highest peaks of Troodos.
Nighttime temperatures will drop to about 6°C inland, 9°C along the coasts, and 2°C in the mountains, where frost may form in some places. The current snow depth on the highest peaks of Troodos stands at 2 cm.
Temperatures are expected to remain close to seasonal averages through Sunday. However, starting Monday, warmer weather is expected as conditions begin to improve.
