32-year-old Limassol resident arrested in stalking and violence case

A 32-year-old man from Limassol has been placed under arrest for eight days following a serious complaint filed by his 46-year-old former partner. The woman claims that he stalked her, threatened her, blackmailed her, insulted her, and subjected her to psychological pressure — and on one occasion even drove a car into her.
The man was brought before the Limassol District Court, which ordered his pre-trial detention. He is being investigated on charges of causing bodily harm, making threats, violence, and other offences.
The latest incident occurred the day before yesterday: the suspect appeared at the shop where the woman was, began shouting, insulting her, and demanding her phone. Store employees called the police, and the man fled.
The complaint also mentions an earlier serious incident by the sea, when, after an argument, the man allegedly drove a car into the woman and caused her injuries.
The 32-year-old was arrested early Tuesday morning. He refused to give a statement until consulting a lawyer.
